Mi Cocina – My Kitchen


We recently had the opportunity to try the new Tex-Mex brunch menu from the ever so popular Mi Cocina Restaurant located in the heart of Midtown ATL. This Friday  brunch tasting was really something to get your day going. Good people, good drinks and good food make this a great midday treat. We BEgan with a few of the popular margarita’s . The first drink was the Mambo Taxi‘ which was “The classic frozen margarita featuring Sauza Blanco tequila with Mi Cocina house-made Sangria”. While waiting on my food to come out, i then decided to try the Mambo Limousine “The Mambo Taxi  goes uptown with a Chambord meltdown”. After two drinks i then understood why these drinks were given the clever names they were given. The story BEhind these two is after 3 of the Mambo Taxi’s, the only way you can get home is in a Taxi and after 3 of the Limousines the only way you are getting home is in a Limousine ;meaning Mi Cocina DOES NOT PROMOTE DRUNK DRIVING.

Now it’s time to get into the brunch. Everyone at the table ordered different things . Me personally, i tried the Huevos con Chorizo (Three eggs scrambled with Mexican sausage and cheddar cheese with a side of bacon”) Imagine all of that flavor packed into a taco. Simply amazing. I then sample the Brisket con Huevos (Slow-roasted brisket and 2 eggs any style with ranchero sauce) Which melted in my mouth. The meat was so well season and so tender. You could tell they cooked with care. No brunch is complete without an omelette and that’s just what i had that topped off my tasted buds. Omelet Mexicana (Three eggs filled with chorizo, poblano peppers,tomato, onion, and Monterrey Jack and cheddar cheeses)

Overall this was an amazing experience and is quickly in the top running for a brunch i will always remember. Make sure you stop by and check out the new brunch menu and if you plan on trying ANY one of the margarita’s make sure you brunch you cab fare or a designated driver
